It’s been a little over a year since Zach Haws joined the Curtis Miner Architecture (CMA) family. As a senior BIM technician, he has enjoyed getting involved in design projects from the ground up. “There is no greater joy than seeing something grow from paper to life,” Zach marvels.

The son of a contractor, he always knew building and design was something he would get into. After taking a few classes at Utah Valley University, his interest only heightened. In 2018 he earned his Associate of Science in Engineering Technology and is now enrolled in the University’s inaugural Architecture Program. Through his courses, Zach stays up to date on trends and technologies, helping him become even more fit for a career in architecture.

Zach considers Revit his home and enjoys learning tips and tricks to streamline his work. “The software program is constantly evolving and becoming what we need, when we need it,” he says. His skills were recently utilized on the Courtyard at Jamestown Assisting Living project. The owner of the retirement community enlisted CMA to design a new addition and remodel several key areas to provide updated amenity spaces for residents. The project was not only one of the larger projects Zach has worked on, but one of the most fun and challenging. The CMA design team worked closely with the client to create a cohesiveness between the old and new spaces. The critical thinking needed to meet the design challenges was one Zach enjoyed and he acknowledges he grew and learned a lot throughout the course of the project.

That enthusiasm for capturing a client’s vision and bringing it to life is what Zach feels distinguishes CMA from other architectural firms. “We are a team of believers and will stop at no lengths to achieve it.”
