Groove Entertainment Technologies Office Building
Groove Entertainment Technologies, a technology solutions provider for commercial and hospitality communities, needed a facility that showcased their brand, accommodated staff, and provided meeting and demonstration space. They hired CORE Architecture (CORE) to design a new 3-story, 43,000 SF headquarters. A main level lobby welcomes visitors; show rooms provide space for the Groove team to demonstrate their products for potential clients.
With expansive mountain and valley views, the first and second floors provide open space workstations, with offices and training rooms for new product demonstrations lining the perimeter. Below-grade parking provides space for fleet vehicles, areas for testing products, and an area to prepare and ship products.
In keeping with Groove’s technical products, the headquarters’ modern design utilizes a combination of aluminum composite metal panels, corrugated metal panels, brick, glass curtain walls, and aluminum storefront. A significant challenge for the project was the building site. The structure sits in a steep hillside that required extensive excavation and retaining walls. The site had poor soils which required a deep foundation system (geopiers) to stabilize the building.
