Spectrum STARS Charter School
Spectrum Transition & Academic Resource School (STARS) is a facility designed to meet the needs of students with autism and other special needs. Part of the Spectrum Academy, the new 23,332 SF building features 18 classrooms, sensory rooms, therapy rooms, and rest areas for students to go when they feel overwhelmed. A mock apartment provides an environment for students to learn adaptive skills as part of the Academy’s comprehensive transition plan to help an older generation of students learn to lead productive and successful lives. The large multi-purpose room was designed to serve more than one function and regularly hosts student activities such as dances, athletic activities, parties, and service projects.
The new two-story building provides the Academy with more capacity on its Pleasant Grove campus. In addition to more parking, a new drop-off area was designed to reduce congestion on the busy campus. The drop-off area gives drivers more length to circulate while providers and students leave the building and make their way to the pick-up area.
